Andrew Meiklejohn was born on the 30th of April 1899 . In 1918 he was invalided out of the First World War and entered Glasgow University to study medicine. He graduated as MB ChB in 1923 , and as MD in 1930 . Andrew Meiklejohn then entered general practice in England. Between 1931 and 1946 he carried out investigations into all aspects of silicosis which resulted in many statutory measures for prevention. These are Economic History lecture notes, possibly a lecturer's own notes. There are 6 notebooks within a slipcase. On the slipcase is written in pencil "Dr James Cunnison? Alec Macfie?" The identification of the author of these notes is not certain. There is one letter within volume 6 addressed to Dr Cunnison, but without a comparison of handwriting it has not possible to assign these notes to Dr Cunnison. References within the notes would indicate that they were written after 1924. ...
